Eagles 2014 Fall Recap

14U EaglesEagles Baseball teams finished up their respective fall seasons posting five post-season positions, and three championship game appearances.

The Eagles 10U team, led by head coach Wayne Richardson, closed out the regular season winning three of their last four games in the PBI Baseball League’s 2014 fall season to finish as the #2 seed. They fell 6-5 to the HHB Rookies in the first round of the playoffs.

At the 11U and 12U age levels the Eagles advanced to the playoffs as the #3 seed; both teams lost in the first round of their respective playoffs. The 11’s roared to the finish line winning four in a row under coach Adam Derner. Meanwhile, Bobby Lineburg’s 12U team went through a difficult regular season before falling in the playoffs.

The 13U, 14U and 16U freshman teams all advanced to the championship games for their age levels before being eliminated.

The 13U Eagles under Terence Hanneman’s direction won eight in a row to move to Championship Sunday before falling to the Clarkstown Stars 3-2 in a tightly-contested championship game.

The 14U Eagles started the fall season with a pair of wins before hitting some roadblocks in the middle of the year. Strong pitching from Andrew Meisner and Matthew Monaghan down the stretch, plus the on-base machine known as Walter Brownlee helped push the Eagles to the championship game before losing 5-1 to the Northern Valley Coyotes.

Jack Winters’ 16U freshman squad tore through the regular season with an outstanding 7-1-1 record before falling to the Clarkstown Stars in the championship game.

Eagles winter training gets underway in early December to prepare for 2015 league and tournament play.
