14U Eagles player Andrew Meisner finished up his 2014 fall season with a flourish. One of the team’s top pitchers the previous three seasons, Andrew settled into a very strong groove down the stretch as the Eagles secured the #2 seed in the 2014 fall season of the PBI Baseball League.

In his last three appearances, Andrew tossed 15 innings allowing just two runs. The highlight was a 4-0 shutout against a tough Rutherford Dawgs team on the final day of the regular season. He held the Dawgs to just four hits while striking out eight and walking only one.

In the championship game against the Northern Valley Coyotes, Andrew threw four shutout innings.

His bat was strong too, with eight hits in his final ten at bats over the regular season and playoffs.

Eagles Spotlight On – Dylan Santos

Santos pic10U Eagles shortstop Dylan Santos, who’s been shining on defense already this fall, has made his presence known with his bat, too.

On Sunday October 5th against Teaneck, Dylan slammed his first career over-the-fence home run in the bottom half of the first inning with one out and a runner on second to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead. He ended the day (doubleheader) going 4-6 with the home run, 3 singles and 4 runs batted in. He also had a pair of walks and a three stolen bases.

All in all, a very nice afternoon for Dylan!

With Ryan Remo’s Dad Jeff being one of the first employees hired when Doug Cinnella started Professional Baseball Instruction in 1993, it’s no surprise that Ryan would literally grow up around the game of baseball.

Ryan is currently playing on the Eagles 17U scout team for coach Steve Hayward after putting up some rather astonishing numbers as a junior this past spring for Mahwah High School – in 2014 he earned 10 wins, striking out 40 and walking only 11 with a 1.79 earned run average in 62.1 innings.

His performance on the mound has attracted the attention of a number of colleges including Columbia and Fordham.

A two-sport athlete at Mahwah, Ryan is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Thunderbirds this fall.
